Sunday Scroll Painting



The muted colours of  a cloudy day has sunk the forsythia blast from this photograph into soft-tone gentleness. In real life, it looked a bit more like this, and the banana-ish curve of the forsythia in full bloom and its reflection was irresistibly yellow:


Iffley Lock is a very pretty place, of course (these are the garden behind the houses that back onto the river) and at certain times of year, it really seems to pull the stops out. It's not just the garden flowers, either; in the meadow, the fritillaries have arrived:
